Vm. We went through the Vrbs draft, feedback and proposal process twice before ETH Denver, but weren't able to get something passed in time. Throughout we actively engaged with the community in the proposal comments, Vrbs Hangouts on X and Farcaster chat, and tweaked the proposal based on feedback received. We sourced eco-friendly merch including WRAP certified hoodie and organic cottom t-shirts. In the end the main issue was the proposal amount.
Greenpill Network and Vrbs share a deep alignment focused on funding regenerative actions, public goods, experimental allocation mechanisms, emerging tech stacks, community building, culture and storytelling. Can learn more about Greenpill in the 2024 end of year newsletter and Regen Coordination Karma GAP community. The original goal of linking these two overlapping regen communities still feels fitting and important. Even though we didn’t get a proposal approved in time, we moved forward with creating and paying for the Greenpill x Vrbs merch with the design by Vrbs artist LittleBirth, and ordered some Vrbs Coffee for the hackerhouse. What resulted was an epic and meaningful experience that strengthened our communities and left a lasting impact.
ETH Denver, and the time and energy surrounding it, was an incredible convergence for the broader regen/ReFi, DeSci, localism, dev, art, etc ecosystems. Members of the Greenpill Network from around the world came together for a couple of weeks, co-living in a hackerhouse. We contributed to, and volunteered at numerous side events including GFEL, the Allo Summoning, Schelling Point, and Gover[Ninit]. We also gave back to the local community through two volunteer shifts at the Food Bank of the Rockies and did a river cleanup with the Greenway Foundation.
Alongside all that, we connected with countless aligned individuals and orgs at even more side events, social gatherings and at our own community BBQ. Often while proudly repping the hoodie, which organically sparked conversations about Vrbs.
Vrbs and LittleBirth were also mentioned in the recently published Greenpill newsletter. You can spot the hoodie 3 seconds into the Allo.capital promo video below, and again in the GFEL Poetic Harvest video embedded within the newsletter. One of the speakers even wore it on the ETH Denver Professor Gwei regen side stage.
ETH price was substantially higher when the previous proposal was made, and we are also lowering the ask from 1.5 ETH to 1 ETH. The bullets below outline some of the collective expenses that these funds will help cover. Greenpill Network will also be lightly subsidizing the joint costs including housing and communal food. The volunteering and work everybody put in are the highlights, but for the sake of transparency here are some numbers for the items that this proposal will help retroactively fund.
The Greenpill Dev Guild is filled with Vrbs holders and we have hosted a number of aligned events/spaces:
