Currently the Vrb Votes ERC20 contract is nontransferable. We'd like to work towards a world where $vrbs is a community currency that powers the Vrbs society. This proposal upgrades the ERC20 contract to be transferable. PR with changes here.
Allowing speculation on the token will not IMO benefit the ecosystem. It will allow people to more easily purchase votes, thus allowing the voting to be more easily corrupted. Once again, we allow for the person with the most money to purchase more influence.
imo longer term we will have a healthier ecosystem if we can use our own native currency to pay for things. it'll insulate us from the market around us
What are some of the benefits of this change?
Adding transferability will allow people to buy/sell on secondary markets, which should make the vrbs ecosystem more healthy
This should also help keep the cost of votes from the emitter linked the cost of auctioned vrb voting power
